Global Tribe Children’s Centre Turns One!

March12

HappyBirthday

On March 12th we celebrated a great occasion. Global Tribe Children’s centre turned one. We have been open for a year now and have seen many awesome things happen. Seven children have been admitted into school, 15 are heading off at the end of March, two children went away and came back, we have a doctor coming in once a month to administer medication when needed and to track their weight, our teachers are doing a fantastic job, we have had a trip to the zoo, the science museum and had a picnic at the park. We have also had a number of volunteers visit and bring needed resources to the centre.

Our party was wonderful. We had parents, HOPE foundation staff, volunteers and friends come to celebrate with us. We started with introductions, speeches; one of my volunteers from last year, Lydia Littlejohns, (who was here when the centre started) was able to return for the party, and she gave an amazing speech. Two of our darlings did a speech; Nargish said she wanted to be a policewoman when she grew up and Javed said he wanted to be a teacher. The children had been practising a song and also performed a dance. They played a game and then Minat and her brother Saddam who were the first students in our centre cut the cake. We had snacks and said our thanks and good bye.

One of my wonderful teachers said that she would like to start an afternoon tutoring programme for the children who go to school to help them continue the studies they have started. This will work well because after lunch the little ones have a sleep.

My dream is that in one more year we will be celebrating our second birthday. There will be a whole bunch of new children singing new songs and celebrating. The only way we can do this is with your help. The centre, as I’ve mentioned in previous newsletters, is in need of more supporters. Can you please pray about becoming a part of this ministry and blessing these poorest of the poor children? We are looking for more regular financial supporters. Please contact me if you would like any further information.

jig.naenae@paradise.net.nz is still my email address. I would love to hear from people to know how you are doing etc… Hearing from home while you are away is a great gift.

Thanks so much for all of your support and prayers. I am so looking forward to hearing from you soon, bye for now.

God bless

From Julie-Ann/Jig
