Global Tribe Children’s Centre Update
Our Doctor’s Visit
Namaste,
On the first Monday of each month our wonderful Doctor comes to visit the children. He checks their weight and any other complaints they may have.
We have found that all of our children are underweight and malnourished. We have one or two children who are 11 kg, all the rest are under. Some of our parents are able to get the medication prescribed.
In July, after a 3 week summer (when temperatures are above 40 degrees) holiday, we are going to buy de-worming syrup which will be prescribed from our Doctor and give to all our children. Three times a week we’ll give our children a boiled egg with their lunch, this will provide them with protein and calcium. We’ll carry on with this throughout summer and then during winter we will provide them with carrots for vitamin B.
The centre is running smoothly with our little ones. It’s great to be able to go and see the changes in the children as they are now getting used to the routine of their day. One of our little girls, Afnaz, used to scream and cry every time her mum dropped her off. Now she is helping the little ones who don’t know what to do. She is 3 years old. She now tells her mum that she has to go to school because when she grows up she wants to be a Doctor.
I want to thank you all for the wonderful support you have given. We really appreciate it. Please continue to pray for our children and staff. For your information we have 14 girls and 6 boys on the roll. We also have two of our girls, who are our cook’s daughters, in a wonderful Christian boarding school in Dehradun, out of Delhi. They needed to be in a safe place, they are both doing extremely well. They are at home now for the holidays and both have told me they like school and have made good progress.
Please keep in contact, its wonderful hearing from you all.
God bless
Julie-Ann and Global Tribe’s Children
