THE HEART OF GLOBAL TRIBE:

August17

The heart of global Tribe is reflected in our creed: To safeguard the helpless and do them no wrong; to show courage on behalf of those who cannot defend themselves. THE WORK of Global Tribe is to mobilize resources and partner with existing ministries, grass roots leaders, to make poverty history; to provide a platform for their work, recruit volunteers for their mission, and raise funds to help with their expenses, to expend our collective energy and resources to combat physical and spiritual hunger, both around the globe and at home. Here is a glimpse of our work. Global Tribe is to focus our resources on those with whom we partner.

India Global Tribe Children’s Center Update

March31

Hello everybody.

Today we celebrated our 2nd birthday. Kamal and I went out and surprised the children with a cake. Each child received a laminated photo. The photo was taken when the children were at the mall. It is like their school photo. It was so exciting seeing the children looking at themselves. The mum’s were excited to see the photo’s also.

Over the last 2 years we have had a wonderful time. We’ve had children graduate and go off to government schools, these children often return to come in and say hi, we’ve had a number of parent teacher meetings, outings, fun days, art and craft, a doctor each month visiting, seeing the children develop and grow in confidence has been awesome.

GLOBAL TRIBE in 2008

January10

In addition to the work you supported helping us launch REACH Tucson, here is a look at some of the amazing work you helped us accomplish this year.

Baja, Mexico

Our  partner in Baja is Pastor Bob Sanders and his team at Baja Christian Ministries. In just a little more than one year, almost 19,000 Purple Books have been distributes and started.  Nearly 4,300 people have completed the study in one on one sessions. Of 575 groups studying, more than 160 have completed Purple Book.  The work has grown from one director leading the study groups to 5 area directors.  We have done two trips to Baja in support of the work, specifically for evangelism and working on the construction of homes, classrooms, and other buildings.

Global Tribe Children’s Center January Newsletter

January1

In January we took all of our children on a trip of a life time. We bundled them all into a small bus and took off to a local mall. Here they were able to have a walk around, see the water with boats on it and have a ride on a carousel. They were so excited to sit on the horses and go around and wave to us.

We then headed to a park where the children enjoyed their lunch, we played Billy, billy Kuta which is Indian style Duck Duck Goose. Then we gave them some balls and the children ran around in a big space kicking and chasing and laughing so much. It was a real joy to my heart to see them all having such a good time.

The Changes the centre makes

I’d like to introduce you to a lovely little girl called Nazoo. She lives next door to our centre in a one room shack with her mum, dad, sister and I think some brothers. About a year ago we tried for her to come into the centre but she screamed and kicked until her dad had to come in and get her. She was always happy to smile at me and wave but as soon as there was any talk of her coming in she would run away. When I arrived here in January I was so happy to see a smiling happy Nazoo sitting on the mat and listening to the teachers. She remembered me and gave me a huge smile.

God stories

God has been showing his love for us show much this year. There are so many stories to share with you that each newsletter I’ll put in another story. Let me start with the first one, the day we arrived at the airport. I call it ‘The handbag story.’

We arrived at Delhi airport and got all our bags together. Kamal was there waiting for us. We headed for the van. I was with my team members, Nina, Roly and Anna. When we arrived at the van I looked for my handbag and it was gone, I couldn’t believe it, just like that it was gone. Kamal and I went back and had a good look around, no bag to be seen. We went to the police station and laid a complaint. I rung my insurance people and the bank and cancelled my cards. Everything was in my bag, tickets, passport, camera, phone, money etc… We finally got to our hotel and got given our rooms when Kamal’s phone rang, it was the police to say they had found the bag. Praise God. We headed back to the airport and sure enough there it was and believe it or not absolutely everything was in it. The police told us that because of a bag being by itself people thought it could have been a bomb so left it alone. Wow. We were blown away by this and so thankful to God for taking care of us.
