Global Tribe Newsletter: Join Us In Congratulations To Our Former Executive Director

February1

From the first days of Global Tribe in 1992, our goal has always been to come alongside emerging leaders God has chosen to do His work. Over the years we have worked with Baja Bob Sanders and his Baja Christian Ministries building homes for the poor in Mexico.
We helped Newsboys launch Global Tribe US, and we have more recently worked with Cesar Uribe in his work with single mothers and orphans in Mexico. We helped feed children in Haiti and orphans in India, Cambodia, Malasia, and other Asian locations. In every case we partnered with God’s leader doing the work – and all the way you have helped.

Now we have a new opportunity. God has called one of our own, our Executive Director Rob Michaels, to start Serve & Protect, a ministry to address the spiritual and emotional needs of our homeland Heroes – Police, Firefighters, EMT’s, and Corrections Officers. Through direct ministry and Bible studies, as well as a 24/7 crisis line, Serve & Protect is caring for their needs.

“After serving 6 years as an MP and 5 years in law enforcement with Norfolk, VA PD, I know well the needs,” says Michaels. “For the last three years I have served as a Chaplain for the Williamson County Fraternal Order of Police, and God used that time to make clear His call.”

We encourage you to visit Serve & Protect online at www.serveprotect.com, “like” them at www.facebook.com/serveprotect, and follow on Twitter - @serveprotect. Take a look at their brochure at http://serveprotect.wordpress.com/tools/brochure.

Moreover, prayerfully consider making a donation to Serve & Protect, a 501©(3), by clicking the following link: Donate to SERVE & Protect. You can email Rob directly at rob@serveprotect.org.

As Rob follows God’s call we will stand with him. As always we thank you for making it possible to encourage and nurture leaders God calls us to assist. You can support the work of Global Tribe at Donate to Global Tribe.

Wishing you all of the best, and blessed Thanksgiving weekend,

Anthony Walton

Global Tribe Challenge: Live Off Of $2.50 Per Day

September1

Global Tribe Challenge:

Can you live off of just $2.50 per day?

Band with us today, as we attempt to join over 3 billion people in the world who are living off of less than $2.50 per day.

What habits would you have to change?
Could it possibly bring a whole new meaning to and design to the way you lead your life?
Is it even possible with our unrealistic standard of living?

Today we challenge you to do the seemingly impossible.

Put aside all of your social expectations, and re-think your standard of living as you attempt to live off of just $2.50 per day…if only for just three days.

Get your family, friends, and co-workers involved.
Together we can make a difference.

While doing so, keep track of all of your expenses and share with us on both our Facebook and Twitter pages of how you attempted to fill the shoes of those who need our sympathy the most.

Park your vehicle.
Conserve water.
Conserve food.
Minimize your electricity use.

Can you do it?
This is our challenge to you.

August 2011 Update

August1

Friends and family of Global Tribe -

Today, we continue our push towards ending world poverty.
With over 900 million women living and providing for their children off of less than $1 per day, we have found ourselves faced with a overwhelming tragedy that must be stopped.

You may have already heard, but last week we continued our mission towards supporting these single mothers our various home builds by bringing in a team of volunteers alongside BEC Recording artist’s Rapture Ruckus.

In one of the saddest, yet most encouraging trips yet - we met up with one single mother and her eight kids who would be living in a borrowed trailer with only two beds inside that we were being shared by the entire family of nine.
Living on 87 cents per day, we saw one of the kids cooking breakfast for his entire family out of just a couple of eggs in a frying pan.
Watching the kids scoop a handful of egg whites out of the frying pan, it became apparent that we need to come together if we are going to make an lasting influence in our world.

With the recent political catastrophes surrounding the Mexican government, and the widely publicized drug cartels - we have been finding fear within our supporters as to whether or not they would be safe as they came down to the Mexican Baja in support of this home build, at a time where we need as much support as we can find.
